Week 1 (17/04/2020)

Mr Martin briefed us about the final project and asked us to pick a few of our favourite motion stop videos.

3 favourite stop-motion videos

Here are 3 stop-motion videos that I find interesting. 

This is UTOPIA by Guldies. I like it as the transitions are so smooth and the sound effects in the video are so satisfying and clear. 

This is FANTASIA by Guldies as well. I really like their stop motion videos. This video has a creepy and weird kind of vibe which I personally like. My favorite part is when the egg breaks and a baby appears. 

This is CREAM by the Animation Workshop. This video is sort of peculiar too and I enjoyed watching it. This video contains a lot of strange things happening and the emotions portrayed by the characters are very obvious too. 

We were also told to choose 3 PSA topics from the list given.

1. Mental health

I ended up going with 'mental health', specifically depression.

Once my idea got approved, I moved on to making a storyboard. Here is the storyboard;

After getting feedbacks from Mr Martin and Razif, they said I was good to go however for the first scene I should add a thought bubble showing what triggers the 'Black Figure'. This is my first draft for the final project:

Mr Razif said I should change the illustration of the tombstone and make it more creepy and clay-ish. The colour should also be dull. After the feedbacks given, here is the final outcome.
