INSTRUCTION - MODULE INFORMATION BOOKLET

Week 1 (07/01/20)

For the final project, we have to create a video from an assigned topic. So for my group, our topic is 'Water '. From that topic, we decided to focus on water pollution. After getting the approval from Mr Shamsul we started off with the project.

To gather information, we compiled our data in a document. Here are a few pictures of our research:

After writing the summary, I started working on the narration before progressing on the graphics. It was quite tough because I had to cram everything in just 3 minutes. I decided to remove a lot of unnecessary information and only include very very important ones. After finalizing the narration, we worked on our mood board for this project. 

WEEK 2 (13/01/20)

We presented our moodboard. Here are our slides for the mood board:

Week 4 (28/01/20)

We were working on our animatics. Yaman and Mia worked on the visuals.

WEEK 5 - 7

Yaman and Mia split the work between both of them. Kyra will be animating Yaman's part where as I will be animating Mia's part. Once they were done with the visuals, I took over and started the animation process. I used Adobe After Effects to animate. 

I had to animate 9 scenes. I started off with scene 9. Scene 1-8 were animated by Kyra. I also wrote down the time for each scene.

It was quite tough to have a smooth transition in fig 1.9, it took me a few hours and also a lot of opinions.

Lastly, we included reference links for the final scene.

I rendered the video and I feel satisfied with how it turned out. Overall, the video is smooth and the transition as well. I actually enjoyed animating this project.

REFLECTION

WEEK 1-7

I would say I learned a lot of new things in Adobe Illustrator and After effects as I used these softwares almost everyday. I also surprisingly enjoyed working on this project because each member were assigned to a specific task so the work load was not as bad. After working on this project, I am much more familiar with After Effects which is extremely useful for future works.
